Aetiopathogenesis of urethral stricture disease in a tertiary hospital in Southern Nigeria

This study aims evaluate aetiology, pathogenesis USD at University Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.Methods: was a 6-year retrospective conducted on all patients with features who presented Hospital UPTH. Ethical approval sought obtained from hospital’s ethical committee. Data were ward admission, theatre, discharge records. information gotten included age patient, aetiologic agent, site stricture, number strictures, length complications present presentation. data retrieved analysed categorical form frequencies percentages using tables. Continuous variables as means standard deviation. Results tables charts.Results: mean 44.1±16.7 years. commonest bulbar 74 (67.27%) patients. cause urethral iatrogenic (41 patients).Conclusions: Strictures are amongst middle-aged men. region because its unique anatomy.
